Stealth Jackson Promo 3Travis Wheeler: Vocals / Guitar

By the Barricade: What are the origins for the band’s name Stealth Jackson?

Travis Wheeler: It was a nickname of this guy that I went to high school with. He wore a camo jacket all the time so that’s where the “Stealth” part came from and his first name started with a J so we just kind of gave him a more generic J name… “Jackson”. For some reason I always thought it would be a cool band name!

By the Barricade: We try to expose fans to a lot of new music here on By the Barricade. Can you explain everything a new fan needs to know about Stealth Jackson in five words or less?

Travis Wheeler: Loud, fast, quality, punk rock!

By the Barricade: The band met through online networking right? What was that process like?

Travis Wheeler: I found out that I was moving to Southern California in August of 2013 so I let my current band know that I was going to be leaving and started getting hot on getting some material recorded that I wanted to use for this project. Then by posting it up on YouTube I just attached that to a bunch of craigslist ads.

By the Barricade: What is the song writing process like for Stealth Jackson?

Travis Wheeler: A lot of the material for this band I’ve had written for some time. But really it’s just me coming up with guitar parts, lyrics and the arrangement and just toss the rest to the guys. They do an incredible job on actually making it a songs.

Stealth Jackson LogoBy the Barricade: I saw you recently released the title track off your upcoming album Eat the Apple on Facebook. Do you think sites like Facebook are still a valid way to get your music to the masses?

Travis Wheeler: Absolutely! It really is a phenomenal tool that’s given us so much opportunity. We’ve met so many great people and we’re able to get our music out all over the world.

By the Barricade: Speaking of your upcoming album, can you tell our readers anything else about it?

Travis Wheeler: I think it’s really going to speak for its self ya know. The stories are real and I think a lot of people will be able to relate for better or for worse.

By the Barricade: Your hometown is San Diego, California and it seems you are almost always playing shows there. What do you want people to take away from your shows?

Travis Wheeler: I want them to bob their head, smile, jump, dance, and leave knowing that they just had a really good time. We really love what we do and we love making people have fun!

Stealth Jackson Promo 1By the Barricade: Do you have any other plans for the immediate future?

Travis Wheeler: We’ve really started to branch out outside of San Diego so if you’re in the southwest at all, be on the lookout for Stealth Jackson!

By the Barricade: What is the next milestone you are striving for?

Travis Wheeler: Getting this music to the masses. Going on a full nationwide tour and really finding our audience.

By the Barricade: Is there anything else you want to say to the readers of By the Barricade?
